Our Official WebHostingHub Review
WebHostingHub is not for large businesses. They gear their services more toward the beginners who are first starting out and those who want to do nothing more than to maintain a small blog.
Best features of WebHostingHub
Many people claim that WebHostingHub is one of the best up-and-coming Web hosting companies on the market and here’s why.
Money Back Guarantee
WebHostingHub has a money back guarantee that spans the full-length of three months. That means if you’re unsatisfied with their service for any reason, as they will refund your money – not in full, though. Instead, they will prorate your refund from the time you signed up to the time that you’re canceling.
Standard cPanel with Softaculous Script Installer
WebHostingHub offers your standard cPanel with the Softaculous script installer. When you couple that with their freebies that you’ll see below, you’ll realize that they have over 300 applications available for free and available with a one-click install.
Unlimited Domains on Their Shared Hosting Plans
WebHostingHub will allow you to have unlimited domains on the shared hosting plan. This is great if you’re in the business of flipping domains. You see, many Web hosting companies only allow you to have one domain per account. If you want to add more, you would need to pay more. That’s not the case with WebHostingHub. This means you can register a domain and park it, just waiting for someone who needs it and is willing to pay for you to release it.
24/7 US-based Phone Support
Support seems to be one of those things that either Web hosting companies get or they don’t. When people sign up for Web hosting, they’re going to need support. There’s really no way around it. Employing people round-the-clock to provide support for international customers is something that other Web hosting companies can learn from.
More Than Standard Freebies
WebHostingHub offers 301 different applications free of charge that come with your subscription. On top of that they offer the Softaculous Script Installer so that you can install any of these apps with a single click. And if that was not enough, they offer over $200 in advertising credits to help you get your business off the ground.
Downsides of WebHostingHub
With all the things the WebHostingHub offers, it may be difficult to look past the clutter to see what they are really about.
Possibly Deceptive Marketing Tactics
WebHostingHub has a link on their home page that leads you to review site so you can compare WebHostingHub with other big market players. More than one person has claimed this feature to be completely biased in favor of WebHostingHub. They cite the fact that you cannot find a single negative review about what WebHostingHub on this review site. However, if you look beyond that one review site to other review sites that will tell you about their experience with WebHostingHub, about 38 percent (on a single review site) of them are negative.
Terrible Live Chat Experience
Most of the time, I would say that merely offering the feature of live chat will be a positive thing. However, my experience says that they have some of the worst live chat I’ve ever seen. When I tried to get them online, I was placed on hold for over 10 minutes. Once I was able to get them on the line, the technician on the other side appeared to be distracted and couldn’t keep up with the conversation. The wait time in between his seemingly scripted responses was at times over five minutes long.
Only Shared Hosting Available
If you have big plans for your website to grow, you would better be served elsewhere. WebHostingHub does not offer anything beyond shared hosting plans. What that means is that they do not offer VPS or dedicated hosting plans. Shared hosting plans, while great for beginners, was will serve you poorly when your website needs to scale up to handle a larger audience.
Uptime Lower Than Competitors
Uptime is absolutely critical when you’re running with a business website. The longer a customer’s website is down, the more likely it will be for the customer to backlash due to the potential of lost income. Downtime does not equate to a happy customer. Although their uptime was at 99.42 percent, that metric is surprisingly low when compared to their competitors.
Slow Support Ticket Response Times
It’s great that WebHostingHub offers 24/7 telephone support lines. What isn’t great is that when you use their email ticketing support system, responses can take over 24 hours. When you need support, waiting 24 hours may be the equivalent of having over 24 hours of downtime for your website. Offering prompt support is crucial for the survival of any Web hosting company.
If you’re looking to host a small blog or a hobby-based website, WebHostingHub is an option. With the easy to use interface, the over 300 apps that they offer with the one click install and the 24/7 telephone support lines, you’re looking at a competitive Web hosting company. However, if you’re looking to build a business with Web hosting and best-in-class features and support, you will be better served elsewhere.
